Scoring Criteria Transition: 2026 sits right at a change in our review categories and weighting, so this score isn’t an apples-to-apples comparison to reviews from nearby years under different criteria; worth keeping in mind if you’re tracking a haunt’s rating over time.

Summary

Paranoia Haunted House has been thrilling haunt fans in Georgia since 2011. After spending its first three years in Roswell and a year in Canton, the attraction settled into its current location in Canton a decade ago. Known for its high-energy atmosphere and theatrical showmanship, Paranoia makes opening night, or any night, feel like an event, with a dramatic opening ceremony featuring fireworks, music, and a countdown to the gates opening. A powerful spotlight beam sweeping across the sky over Canton adds to the spectacle, signaling that the nightmares are about to begin. This season, guests can explore two attractions,… Read More…

Guest Experience9.7

Paranoia is easy to find just a few miles off I-575; just follow the searchlight! Free on-site parking is available, with attendants directing guests to open spaces. The staff were friendly and helpful, and large signs made it easy to locate the ticket booth and the separate General Admission and Fast Pass entrances. Portable toilets are available near the street and at the end of the parking lot. Paranoia’s website provides you with a synopsis of the story of each of their haunted houses as well as dates of operation, ticket prices, and a FAQ section for commonly asked questions.… Read More…

Immersion9.04

Paranoia’s immersive experience begins in the queue lines, where the theming is particularly noticeable for Severed, though Blood Lust has its own atmosphere as well. Inside both attractions, the sets are well-detailed, with plenty of attention paid to overhead spaces and ceilings. Changes from previous years were apparent in nearly every scene, giving returning guests plenty of new details to discover. The two houses take different approaches to their environments and pacing. Severed builds its intensity as guests progress, starting with tight, enclosed spaces where characters lurk in nooks and crannies before opening into larger scenes featuring bigger characters. Even… Read More…

Special Effects9.27

Paranoia made effective use of ambient music throughout both houses, with specific sound effects added in select scenes to enhance the atmosphere. Rather than relying on familiar songs, the audio helped establish a mood that suited each environment. Most scenes featured low ambient lighting, creating an ominous feel, although a few areas in Blood Lust were dim enough that some set details were lost in the shadows. Both attractions also incorporated some well-placed accent lighting, highlighting key details or illuminating equipment used as part of a scene. Scents added another sensory layer in both houses, particularly in Severed, where they… Read More…

Characters9.01

As mentioned earlier, Paranoia featured noticeably more actors than we’ve seen in previous years, and this added cast presence went a long way toward supporting its reputation for delivering an intense haunt experience. Both houses seemed to have performers around nearly every corner, with many scenes featuring multiple actors who played off one another while engaging with our group. Many performers used dialogue and character interactions to bring their scenes to life, while others relied on the tried-and-true approach of growling and yelling. That technique is certainly familiar to haunt fans, but one actor in Severed took it to another… Read More…

Scare Factor9.22

With the increased number of actors throughout both houses, Paranoia delivered a high-energy scare experience that felt almost nonstop at times, with very little downtime between encounters. Scares were generally well-timed, and several came from unexpected places, keeping us guessing as we made our way through each scene. A few scares seemed to target only the first several people in our group, so guests farther back may not have had the same impact from every encounter. Both houses were on the shorter side, but the immersive environments and steady pace of the action made them feel longer while we were… Read More…

Value7.94

Our combined walkthrough time for both attractions was 18.5 minutes, and a general admission combo ticket cost $30 on the Thursday night we attended. This works out to an MPD (minutes per dollar) ratio of 0.62, which is in line with many of the haunts we visit. However, the experience extends well beyond the walkthroughs themselves. Paranoia features a lively midway filled with roaming actors, free games, music, fog-filled bubbles, and plenty of photo opportunities. There are also a few food and beverage options offering several reasonably priced and fun-themed concessions. Guests who enjoy watching the characters interact with one… Read More…
