Team Members: Nora Proffet (Team Leader), Tyler Proffet, Alicia Roll, Tammy Hatfield-Wilcoxson, Nickolas Followay, Trevor Christy, and Tracy Westrick (Content Coordinator)

Experience Level: Veteran Team (13+ years)

Normal Coverage Area: IndianaKentuckyOhio

Nora and Tyler joined The Scare Factor 2010, eager to start reviewing and are now the owners of The Scare Factor! As early as 2011, they started attending haunt conventions and Tradeshows to learn as much as they could about the industry.

In addition to being the current owners, they are also the chief editors and website developers all while consitently reviewing over 30 attractions during haunt season each year. They also film walkthrough-style haunt vides, behind-the-scenes footage, and haunt promos! Check out The Scare Factor’s YouTube channel HERE.

During the day, Nora co-operates The Scare Factor and the couples’ real estate (Proffet Properties) and online reselling businesses (1331 Deals). In addition to selling various items on eBay, she also has experience operating a large Amazon store for a local product manufacturer. Nora has an Associate’s Degree in Computer Networking. Her combined experience has given her vast insight into the aspects of maintaining an online presence, as well as local and online business sales.

Nora is currently the Social Media Manager for The Scare Factor social media accounts.

Tyler has worked in several commercial and industrial jobs over the years and is a former AWS-certified welder. Tyler recently joined Nora full-time in co-operating their three buisinesses after ending his career in the Operations department of an electrical power plant. His mechanical and fabrication experience helps give the team a keen eye for detecting quality craftsmanship.

Collectively, they have over 3 decades of experience under their belts visiting and analyzing Halloween haunted attractions!

Alicia joined Team Zombillies just after the 2024 haunt season ended, but conquered her “trial by fire” by attending multiple off-season haunt events. With a keen eye for detail and a talent for analyzing haunt attributes and features, she has already become an invaluable member of the team!

Trevor is a Louisville, KY native. After obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue, he has worked in the automotive manufacturing industry ever since specializing in robotics and automation. He has a passion for anything mechanical, motorsports, Warhammer, and of course anything spooky.

He started reading Goosebumps and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as a child and has loved all things scary ever since. This naturally lead to an affinity for haunted houses and paranormal things as an adult, and he still always has a good ghost story in his ‘currently reading’ pile. His background as an engineer is apparent in his love of animatronics and special effects in haunts.

After a childhood filled with watching horror movies and playing horror-themed video games, Nickolas inevitably discovered local haunts around the age of 11. That only ended up fueling the fire; the moment he was old enough and the Halloween season rolled around again, he obtained a position as a scare actor for a haunt and stayed there for nearly five years.

Nickolas believes he’s always had somewhat of a “sixth sense” and is fascinated by all things paranormal. One of his main hobbies since 2016 is cosplaying characters from video games, which has given him extensive knowledge and skills in costume design, makeup, prop-making, set/backdrop design, photo editing, and video editing. He also took classes on these subjects for years when he was still in school.

Based in Louisville, KY, Nickolas is an aspiring actor with a particular interest in doing voice acting along with motion-capture for video games. Aside from spooky stuff, he’s an animal lover and pet dad to (currently) three cats, a ball python, two tarantulas, and three jumping spiders. He’s also an advocate for bettering mental health. Nickolas is both very grateful and excited to be a part of a Scare Factor team and can’t wait to see what haunts he gets to experience next!

Tammy found joy in the thrill of the unknown from a very young age. Her grandpa’s stories of bloody buckets, ghost cars, and other spooky tales sparked her lifelong love for horror. The adrenaline rush from being scared became a feeling she cherished, and it shaped a significant part of who she was.

Her passion for all things horror was evident, with Michael Myers being her favorite character by far. She also had a deep interest in the behind-the-scenes aspects of horror, particularly in how haunts were built and operated. It was a dream of hers to one day be involved in creating those experiences.

Horror movies, haunts, and anything paranormal were not just pastimes for Tammy; they were integral to her identity. In 2003, she had the opportunity to work as an actor at Industrial Nightmare, where she honed her skills in scaring people, making them cry with fear, something she took great pride in. She spent four memorable seasons there, considering it the best job she ever had.

When her beautiful daughter came into her life, Tammy took a step back to focus on motherhood, which she described as the most rewarding unpaid job she ever had. Her daughter became her greatest achievement, and as she grew older and more independent, Tammy found herself with a bit more time to rekindle her passion for horror.

Tammy balances her love for horror with her career as a referral coordinator at a children’s hospital, a role she finds both stressful and rewarding. She is also a dedicated all-star and school cheer mom, supporting her daughter in all her endeavors.

She feels incredibly fortunate to be part of The Scare Factor, where she looks forward to many more scares and, as she would say with a laugh, “Maybe a little moisture.”

Tracy joined The Scare Factor in 2024 after participating in multiple haunt attractions with Tyler and Nora during the previous season, where she learned the review process.

Tracy has had a passion for scary movies, haunt attractions, and the paranormal since her childhood.
She is a Reiki and Shaman practitioner who enjoys Tai chi, astrology, meditation, reading tarot and
oracle cards, along with other metaphysical practices.

Tracy works for a large medical insurance company, where she assists the VP of the clinical strategy
department and leads the team’s engagement committee. In addition to her professional role, she pet-
sits at her apartment complex as spending time with animals brings her great joy, including her own pets
and best friends: a pug named Whitley and her pug-a-mo, Freddie.

Tracy is currently pursuing her master’s degree in business administration at The University of the
Cumberlands
and plans to continue her academic journey by pursuing a doctorate degree in business
administration after her graduation in May 2025, with the goal of advancing her career.

While Tracy is a Content Coordinator for The Scare Factor, you still may see her at the haunts helping write reviews and on YouTube as well!
